Chandigarh, 22nd December, 2017: Sequel of STAR Plus’s most iconic show, Diya Aur Baati Hum, which made its way into the viewer’s hearts, Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, essays the story of Sooraj and Sandhya Rathi’s daughter, Kanak Rathi. The story has taken an interesting turn as Kanak and Uma enter the new phase of life. Set amidst the beautiful backdrop of Jaipur, the show has been captivating the audience.
Kanak who has recently divorced her husband, Uma Shankar, has raised many questions in the minds of the audience. Many iconic couples have gone to different lengths, crossing all boarders and boundaries for the sake of their love, but what made Kanak divorce Uma just to protect him too, right after confessing her love! The two have been prey to massi’s clever plan, Uma is now promised to Palomi as an act for the same. Amidst all the drama continues the wedding track on the show with two weddings of Ved & Payal and Uma & Palomi happening under one roof.
Essayed by the gorgeous Rhea Sharma, Kanak Rathi’s story is taking a new turn in the show. Kanak who has a hidden motive, has entered Uma’s house as a baraati in a spunky new avatar. Kanak trades her Sanskari look for an unconventional avatar of jeans and kurta and a chirpy yet spunky personality which makes her successful in grabbing Uma’s attention. Her quirk, chirp and flirting has led to a storm in Uma’s house.
On the other side of this twisted love story is a religious and a strong believer of his morals, Uma Shankar, played by the multi-talented Avinesh Rekhi. Confused and disappointed by Kanak’s sudden decision of divorce, Uma is now trapped between a situation where he has to suppress his feelings to follow his morals. Not only is Uma a stern follower of his beliefs and morals, but he also refuses to fall prey to Kanak’s attention seeking attempts. Uma who is promised to Palomi, feels a sense of guilt while being the centre of attention of Kanak’s world.

Apart from the unconventionally electrifying duo, the show has power-packed bunch of actors including Neelu Vaghela, Saadiya Siddiqui, Shefali Singh, Madhura Naik, and many more in pivotal roles.
Amidst all the drama is its creator, Aditya Shankar, brother of Uma Shankar. Essayed by the multi-faceted Ayush Anand, Aditya is the person Payal was married to since childhood. Living his own life with a carefree attitude, Aditya came back to Uma’s house only to find that his attitude was unacceptable to Uma and he promised Payal to her first love Ved. His negative avatar was so destructive, same as his mother, i.e., Uma Shankar’s massi who have created a storm in Uma and Kanak’s lives
The show boasts of an interesting track in the current phase as the wedding shenanigans continue on the set. Actor Ayush Anand who is in the clean city Chandigarh today, states, “The show’s current track is the reason why its getting more fans everyday! The biggest take amidst all the drama is what is Kanak’s motive to be back in Uma’s life, even after proclaiming the decision of divorce herself. While the wedding track continues, Rhea has also recreated the song Ghani Bawari in the show which has been the highlight as it was not missed by any co actor. The viewers will be in for a treat as the story slowly unfolds and Kanak’s constant flirting with Uma is loved by all.”
