A joint team of the Crime Investigating Agency and the local Civil Lines police station today arrested three persons for the murder of a man whose body was found from a house in Sikka colony on August 1.

Talking to mediapersons here today, DSP Rahul Dev said the accused — Anil, Rohit and Krishan of Kalupur locality — were victim Amit’s friends. The victim was a drug addict and it was suspected that the murder took place over some money transaction, he added.

The DSP said the accused would be produced in court tomorrow and their custody would be sought for further investigation in the case and to collect material evidence related to the crime.

Sonepat SP Ashwin Shenvi had constituted eight teams to arrest the accused at the earliest.

Amit was the brother of a Dalit girl, who was allegedly kidnapped, gang-raped and murdered. Her body was found dumped at a deserted place on the outskirts of Rohtak town on May 11 this year.
