The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received a fresh bout of snow, while sporadic rains exacerbated cold conditions in the plains.

Cold weather, coupled with light rain and fog, added to the woes of the people in the national capital.

Mercury plummets in Delhi. The maximum temperature settled at 17 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal for the season as compared to yesterday’s 25.2 degrees C. Lower areas of the state like Dharamsala, Palampur, Solan, Nahan, Bilaspur, Una, Hamirpur and Mandi towns also received rain, and brought down the temperatures considerably.
