Arrangements for Kakryal nursing college fest finalised

The 21st meeting of the governing body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing (SMVDCoN), Kakryal, was held here today.

Several important decisions for the development of the college as a top-ranking institution in the field of nursing education were taken.

The governing body, inter alia, finalised the arrangements for organising a two-day inter-college competition i.e. nursing fest titled “Tarang-2018” by the SMVDCoN in which various nursing colleges of the state are participating.

The events comprising debate, quiz, poster-making competition, sports and cultural programmes are scheduled to be held on March 23 and 24.

The governing body also took stock of the requirement of infrastructure and other logistics for the third batch of the students of the college, the classes for which will commence from the forthcoming academic session. It also discussed and finalised the entrance examination schedule and other matters related to the admission of students for the 2018-19 session.

The meeting was chaired by Major General SK Sharma (retd), Member Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, and chairman, governing body of the College of Nursing. Reviewing the various co-curricular activities undertaken by the institute during the last month, Maj Gen Sharma expressed satisfaction at the functioning of the college. He appreciated the participation by 11 students of the college in the national-level biennial conference organised by the Student Nurses’ Association of India at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh recently.
