Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, his wife Sophie Gregoire and their three children arrived in New Delhi on Saturday for a seven-day visit to boost bilateral ties.

Trudeau, along with his family, will make stopovers at various prominent cities and monuments around the country, including the Taj Mahal and the Golden Temple.

He will wrap up his trip with a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, where the two leaders are expected to discuss wide-ranging matters including civil nuclear cooperation, space, defence, energy and education.

The two-way annual trade between the two countries stood at US6.3 billion dollars in 2015. Canada’s trade flow with India has grown 30 percent since 2014.
