PM Modi accuses Karnataka Govt of Corruption
In a blistering attack on the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dubbed it as “Seedha Rupaiya Sarkar” which should not be allowed to continue ‘even for a minute’.
Addressing a farmers rally in Karnataka, Prime Minister reiterated their welfare is at the core of the Modi’s government’s policy making.
He said that the Congress failed to do anything for farmers over 48 years, but his government has achieved a lot in this direction in just 48 months.
Celebrating the birthday of the son of a farmer BS Yeddyurappa amidst farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Davengere rally saw the launch of a unique movement by farmers to create a new Karnataka.
Prime Minister hit out at the Congress for failing the people of Karnataka. He said he had never seen such anger against any party as against the Congress. The state needs to be freed from the corrupt rule that has eaten into the foundations of the state under Siddaramaiah.
Prime Minister said his government was committed to the welfare of farmers because India cannot prosper till its farmers prosper.
In Karnataka alone, payments worth Rs 11,000 cr have been made to farmers under PM Fasal Bima Yojana.
He said that his government was committed to doubling farmer incomes by 2022 and the soil health card scheme is one step in this direction.
Operation Green to enhance the production of tomato, onion and potatoes has been announced in this budget with an allocation of Rs 500 crore, another move towards doubling farmer incomes.
Prime Minister said that the budgetary allocation under the UPA was Rs 73,000 cr which has gone up to Rs 2 Lakh crores under the NDA government. Even then the Siddaramaiah government had failed to develop the state.
