BJP pushed state into financial mess: Hooda
Rohtak,
Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has stated that the BJP government has pushed Haryana into a deep financial mess and residents would have to face its consequences.
“There was a debt of nearly Rs 71,000 crore when the BJP regime took over the reins of the state. It has now reached Rs 1.61 lakh crore, and that too without any major developmental project being executed in the state during the tenure of the present government,” Hooda said while addressing a press conference here on Friday.
He pointed out that the state’s revenue deficit as well as fiscal deficit had also recorded a sharp increase, which implied that the government had hardly any funds for development.
Hooda lamented that state farmers were not getting the MSP for their produce and GST had been imposed on farm inputs like manure, pesticides and tractor parts.
Terming the state government an “utter failure”, the former CM said that the state leadership had not been able to fulfil any of the 154 promises made by to the people.
In response to a query, Hooda asked Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal to either apologise to the people of Haryana for opposing the SYL canal in Punjab or “forgive” Haryana and focus on Delhi.
He lambasted the BJP regime for deteriorating law and order situation and stated that no noticeable investment had been made in Haryana, contrary to the tall claims made by the CM.
