Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh appeared before a local court on Monday in a defamation case filed by former minister Bikram Singh Majithia.

The AAP state affairs incharge said the party’s Punjab leadership was convinced by the reasons given by national convener Arvind Kejriwal for apologising to Majithia.

Sanjay Singh, however, said he would stick to his own statements against the ex-minister.

“I reiterate what I said about him and am not going to retract under any circumstances. Let the law take its course,” Sanjay Singh added.

He also accused Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of shielding Bikram Singh Majithia. “Despite the Special Task Force (STF) report on the drug trade and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu’s revelations, Capt Amarinder is refraining from taking action against Majithia,” he added. The court will hear the case on May 18.
