R.M. Aggarwal & M.R. Aggarwal emerges winner in doubles group

Steel Strips has clinched the National Bridge Championship by the dint of emerging on top in super league whereas in the doubles group R.M. Aggarwal and M.R. Aggarwal pair has become champion.

In the 3rd and last day of the 7th Steel Strips National Bridge Championship organised by the Punjab Bridge Association here at hotel aroma, super league round was played between the 8 teams reaching the finals. In this league, Steel Strips-1 team with players like Subhash Gupta, Sapan Desai, B. Satyanarayan and Savrendu attained the score of 116.53 and emerged on top position. The Dhampur Sugar team comprising of Akanksha Vyas, B. Saha, Ashok Goel and Sujit Bhattacharya had a score of 78.73 and was placed 2nd. The team of Delhi Blues comprising of Prakash Bhandari, D.K. Tewari, P.C. Gupta and Sengupta had a score of 71.30 and was placed 3rd. The team of Punjab Bridge Association -1 consisting of K.R. Lakhanpal, Colonel Guriqbal Singh, Sant Parkash Sharma and M.S. Sharma with a score of 64.26 was at 4th spot while the team of Spartans comprising of T.C. Pant, Anil, Ambrish Vadhera and Devi Bhatnagar scored 63.68 points and took 5th spot. The team of Punjab Bridge Association -4 consisting of S.R. Malhotra, Y.P. Punj, B.L. Anand and Ved Prakash score 55.13 points thus taking the 6th spot while the team of Punjab Bridge Association -2 having Kuldeep Khanna, Colonel J. S. Brar, Rakesh Sharma, P.K. Nayyar, R.K. Goyal and Rana Jolly scored 54.97 points and was placed 7th. The 8th spot was taken by the CIBA team with 54.40 points and having H.S. Dhariwal, Dr. Harbans Singh, Brigadier Surinder Singh and Ashok Huria as it’s players.

In the pairs group, R.M. Aggarwal and M.R. Aggarwal pair became champion with 715.7 points with Joyroop Malik and Arita Bhattacharya came second with 712.4 points. The 3rd spot was taken by Puneet Gangal and Siddharth with 662.3 points. It is worth mentioning that a total of 28 teams from across the country took part in the championship. The prizes were distributed by Mr. R.K. Garg, Chairman Steel Strips Group.
