Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Singapore’s former Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong jointly unveiled a plaque to pay tribute at the immersion site of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes at the waterfront Clifford Pier. Adding to that, the exceptional musical performance of ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ also sent a strong message of peace to the world.

India’s history is closely linked to Clifford pier of Singapore. Prime Minister Modi added a new chapter in this page of history in Singapore on Saturday. It was the year in 1948 that Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in the Singapore water. And In memory of the world’s greatest leader of peace and non-violence, PM Modi unveiled a plaque at the immersion site of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes at the waterfront Clifford pier in the city.

“Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and I unveiled a plaque marking the site where Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed at the Clifford Pier in Singapore,” PM Modi tweeted. “Bapu’s message reverberates globally. His thoughts and ideas motivate us to work for the greater good of humanity,” he said.
