Former President Pranab Mukherjee will attend the June 11 Iftar Congress will host in Delhi after a break of two years.

Mukherjee accepted the invitation extended by UPA chief and former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Mukherjee recently triggered a massive row by visiting RSS headquarters in Nagpur to address a valedictory function of Sangh trainees.

Although Mukherjee talked tolerance in his address, several Congress persons expressed angst at his having visited the Sangh.

Former Union minister Manish Tewari went to the extent of openly asking Mukherjee what had become so virtuous in RSS to warrant his visit when in 1975 and 1992 the Sangh was banned by the government of which Mukherjee was a part.
