Aamir Khan’s next film after Thugs of Hindostan might be a Hollywood remake

Actor Aamir Khan is considering taking on a Hollywood remake as his next project. Paramount Pictures had reportedly produced the film that Aamir is in talks to take up after he finishes work on his forthcoming Diwali release, Thugs of Hindostan, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

“He is interested in remaking a Hollywood movie, which was produced by Paramount Pictures. Aamir never spills the beans about his projects till all the details are chalked out. No wonder, he is keeping the name of this film under wraps. It will be revealed only when everything is finalised as talks are currently underway to acquire the rights,” a source close to the Dangal star told DNA.

Earlier reports suggested Aamir might be play Osho aka Bhagwaan Rajneesh in a film to by Kapoor & Sons director Shakun Batra. However, the source told DNA, “Work on that has been currently paused. The team is reworking the script on Aamir’s advice. There are several parts of the storyline that he had not agreed upon.”

Aamir’s alleged first look from Thugs of Hindostan dropped in April but was a fake. The film is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and the makers constructed two massive ships weighing over two lakh kilos for it.

“Since sea and ships play an integral part in the plot, Aamir as well as (producer) Aditya Chopra were sure that they would go all out to present the biggest spectacle that Hindi cinema has ever witnessed. The film’s budgets are yet to be ascertained, but the cost for the two ships easily runs into several crores,” an insider revealed.
