Last rites of the three SPOs who were kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian were performed on Friday.

Thousands gathered to bid tearful adieu to the three police men in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The martyred special police officers, were identified as Firdous Ahmad Kuchey and Kuldeep Singh, residents of Batgund in Shopian, and Nisar Ahmad Dhobi of Kapran in Shopian. Nisar’s brother, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, was also abducted but later released.

A major search operation had also started in Shopian after the bodies were found. Five terrorists were gunned down at Bandipora area in combing operation conducted by the Indian army.
