The Government agencies and private millers have procured 169.77 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till November 28.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 168.58 LMT of paddy while 119168 MT has been procured by the millers. Besides, 168.32 LMT paddy has been lifted.

Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 5899862 metric tonnes, MARKFED 3877651 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 3521953 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 1563733 and 1744812 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 249672 MT paddy.
