The Government agencies and private millers have procured 170.02lakh metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till November 29.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 168.80 LMT of paddy while 121884 MT has been procured by the millers. Besides, 168.60 LMT paddy has been lifted and payments worth Rs. 29043.85 crore have been made to the farmers/arthiyas.

Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 5910510 metric tonnes, MARKFED 3883105 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 3525319 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 1564300 and 1746138 MT paddy respectively.
