TN court issues warrant against V K Sasikala in FERA violation case
A Tamil Nadu court has issued a warrant to produce jailed AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala before it for a FERA case.
Enforcement Directorate had booked Sasikala and her relative V Bhaskaran for allegedly purchasing equipment for a TV channel in 1996 from a foreign country where they allegedly routed payments via illegal means.
The Enforcement Directorate had alleged that as chairperson-cum-director of JJTV Private Limited, Sasikala authorised the company’s managing director and her nephew V. Bhaskaran to negotiate and enter into a contract with any foreign supplier of a transponder facility for the launch of a Tamil satellite television channel in the early 1990s.
