PM Modi Centre committed towards development of Odisha

Prime Minister assured the people of Odisha that the developmental potential of the state will be harnessed in toto and the state will become synonym for progess and achievements.

Addressing a gathering after launching and foundation stone laying of various projects in Bhubaneswar, PM Narendra Modi said that with the infrastructural development being carried out on a large scale, Odisha is poised to become the petroleum hub in the country.

PM’s engagement in the state gave the people of Odisha a glimpse of what the future has in store for them.He inaugurated several developmental projects worth around 14,500 crore rupees in Odisha.

The projects, related to health, road and highways, higher education and culture, are part of PM Modi’s vision of Purbodaya a prosperous East for building a new India. PM inaugurated a new campus of IIT-Bhubaneswar at Aragul built with a cost of 1,260 crore rupees.

PM also inaugurated new facility of the ESIC hospital in Bhubaneshwar.He, quite rightly, gave assurance to the people of the Odisha about all possible help from the Centre for the development of the state.

PM also talked about the tourism potential of the state.He inaugurated Lalitgiri Archaeological Museum which houses huge sculptures of the Buddha and various Buddhist deities.

He said that the opening of the ASI museum in Odisha will attract tourists across the world.Highlight of his visit was a commemorative coin and a postage stamp in the memory of Paika Rebellion at a function in IIT Bhubaneswar .

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the 1817 Rebellion led by Buxi Jagabandhu of Khurda district against the Britishers and as a mark of respect , a Buxi Jagabandhu chair has been instituted at Utkal University.
