Prime Minister Narendra Modi on saturday inaugurated and laid the Foundation Stone for several development projects at Silvassa in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. PM laid foundation Stone of Medical College in Sayli and also released IT policy for union territory.

Saturday turned out to be a historic day for Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his second visit to the Union territory since 2014, laid the foundation stone of a medical college with a capacity of 150 students.

This will be built at a cost of Rs 189 crore. Classes will start in the college from the next academic session. A sum of Rs. 114 crores in 2018-19 and Rs. 75 crores in 19-20 have been approved for construction of this medical college.

Under the Modi government Medical education has reached every corner of the country. At the core of Prime Minister’s governance is the sabka saath sabka vikas mantra.

Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 860 cr . He launched developmental schemes worth Rs 900 cr in the Union Territory.

The inaugurations for Diu include an “Education Hub” built at a cost of Rs 250 cr and a bridge on the river Daman Ganga River at a cost of 48 cr. Daman now has a “Tribal Cultural Centre” built at a cost of Rs 4.73 crore.

The other major projects unveiled include an 11.4 kilometer long Ring road at Silvassa, a three phase Daman Ganga river front, and a sewage treatment plant.

PM also launched the m-Arogya app and door to door waste collection, and management system digitally. Prime Minister also released the IT policy of the Union Territory.
