Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari inaugurate 30th National Road Safety Week, 2019 and Flag off Motor Rally to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways today launched the 30th National Road Safety Week, with a host of initiatives planned for generating awareness and sensitizing people about safe road usage.

In an event in New Delhi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari flagged off a motor car rally to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The rally is travelling through places historically associated with Gandhiji…The rally is part of the year long celebrations to commemorate the 150th year of Mahatma Gandhi in India and across the globe.

On this occasion, Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that Gandhiji’s favourite song is sung by singers from 155 countries which is a unique effort in itself.
