Tejashwi fined Rs 50,000, asked to vacate house

New Delhi
The Supreme Court today dismissed former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav’s petition against a Patna High Court order to vacate a government bungalow meant for the Deputy CM and fined him Rs 50,000 for wasting “precious judicial time”.

Yadav occupies 5 Desh Ratna Marg bungalow at Patna, which is very close to the Raj Bhavan and the CM’s official residence. It was allotted to him in 2015 when he was appointed Deputy CM of the then ‘Grand Alliance’ government headed by Nitish Kumar. But RJD and JD(U) parted ways and the latter joined hands with the BJP.
A Bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi ordered the RJD leader to shift to an accommodation for the Leader of Opposition.
