BOTH HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT CONTINUE TO BE DISRUPTED ON VARIOUS ISSUES

Question hour was disrupted in Lok Sabha owing to an oppostion led uproar on a range of issues. The Lower House passed the interim budget after Finance Minister Piyush Goyal’s reply. Rajya Sabha proceedings too were interuppted by noisy scenes and was adjourned for the day.

The Lok Sabha passed the interim budget on Monday amid an opposition walkout. The interim budget proposals were discussed in the Lok Sabha, after which the House passed it. Finance Minister Piyush Goyal in his repoly expressed confidence that his government would return to present the full budget. Highlighting the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, he said in the next ten years farmers would receive 7.5 lakh crore rupees through its disbursment. He was particluarly harsh on those opposition parties who thought little of the provision.

Union Finance Minister, Piyush Goyal wIth the support of data, he pointed out the Govt’s fiscal discipline. He said government had taken several steps to stop inflation. He accused the erstwhile Congress of having looted the country and perpetuating poverty. He contrasted how the Modi government has been working to eradicate poverty, and warned that the people of the country will never forgive the Congress party for its corrupt practices. Earlier, there was a ruckus in Parliament in both houses. The Rajya Sabha was interrupted twice on different issues. SP and BSP members raised the issue of the deaths due to spurious liquor in UP.

The Upper House was also interrupted by TDP and Congress members for different issues. The Congress and JDS raised the issue of alleged operation Kamal in Karnataka to lure their party MLAs in a plot to topple the Karnataka government. Human Resource Minister Prakash Javadekar, while responding to questions during Question Hour in Lok Sabha, clarified that government is committed to reservation of SC/ST and OBC in appointment of teachers in Central Universities.
