‘Rabab Utsav’ regales mesmerizes audience at Punjab Kala Bhawan
Chandigarh – The Punjab Kala Parishad today organized ‘Rabab Utsav’
as part of the series of functions to be held to observe the 550th
Gurpurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The function held today was presided
over by the Chairman of the Parishad Dr. Surjit Patar.
In the
beginning, Writer Dr. Harpal Singh Pannu from Punjabi University,
Patiala delivered a lecture on ‘Rabab Da Roohani’ subject. Afterwards,
Musician Abdul Majid Shah from Srinagar exhibited his prowess on ‘Rabab’
instrument which completely mesmerized the audience.
The
function reached its pinnacle when Bhai Baldeep Singh did ‘Shabad Gayan’
from Guru Nanak Bani on the Rabab. Then Mr. Manmohan Singh Daoon
recited a poem based on Rabab. Compeering the function ably, the
Secretary General of the Parishad Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal said that
in future too, the functions would be held dedicated to Gurpurab. The
Media Coordinator of the Parishad Mr. Ninder Ghugianvi said that the
function was centered on the companion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji- Bhai
Mardana Ji who played Rabab.
Among others present on the occasion
included State Information Commissioner Mr. Nidharak Singh Brar, Dr.
Nirmal Jaura, Mr. Gurcharan Singh Boparai, Mr. Harpreet Chanku, Mr.
Dewan Manna and Dr. Sarabjit Kaur Sohal.
