As political battle heats up over the Indian Air Force’s airstrikes in Pakistan, Am Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday criticised Bharatiya Janata Party supremo Amit Shah for misrepresenting the number of casualties in the strike for electoral gains.

The Delhi chief minister’s barbs come in the wake of Union minister SS Ahluwalia’s statement that the IAF’s February 27 response in the enemy’s backyard in Balakot was primarily aimed at sending out “a clear message to the Pulwama perpetrators” about India’s defence capabilities and not to cause human casualties.

Launching an attack on Twitter, Kejriwal said the Indian Air Force could not put a number on casualties. “Is the Indian armed force lying BJP and Amit Shah are saying the armed force is lying. The country will not tolerate this,” Kejriwal said in a tweet, adding that India had faith in its armed forces.
