Heavy rainfall have battered the Golestan and Mazandaran provinces of Iran leaving homes flooded and without power.

The flash floods have displaced hundreds out of their homes washing away everything.

The high water levels have also forced evacuations of several small farm communities as the farmlands have also been swamped.

The number of causalities is yet to be ascertained, the loss of life and property will be clear as the water recedes.

A high alert has been issued to the capital city, Tehran and other provinces as well.
