Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma creates unique records
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma hit his maiden half-century of IPL 2019 as MI produced an all-round effort to register a convincing 46-run win over defending champions Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on Friday.
MI’s win on Friday ended CSK’s winning streak of five games at home this season. The Rohit-led MI, three-time champions, came up with a complete performance to silence the Lions in their own den. Rohit top-scored with 67 from 48 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes to help MI post 155 for four on a slow and turning Chepauk surface after being sent in to bat.
Rohit led from the front with a typically elegant half-century, his first of the season, during which he hit some big sixes and looked in control for the most part. He holed out to Vijay at long-on off Santner, who bowled a brilliant spell. In the process Rohit also broke a few records.
Rohit now has 7 fifty plus scores against Chennai Super Kings most by any batsman in the IPL history. List of players with most fifties against CSK. Rohit Sharma continued his good form vs CSK today as he scored third fifty in last 5 innings vs CSK.
