Varanasi : Two months after marriage, first wife gave divorce, second took only a month to hang herself to death

The former wife of a man had divorced after 2 months of marriage. The family is accused of torturing for dowry.

The police called the forensic team to investigate. The reason for the incident is not known. Anurag, a native of Ambedkar Nagar, was employed after the death of his father on dependent quota.

The first marriage of this man was in Ghazipur. After 2 months of marriage, the wife had divorced. After that Anurag got married to Anjula Upadhyay, daughter of Gopal Upadhyaya of Mirzapur’s Kachavan, on June 10.

Just after a month of marriage, Anjula hanged herself to death. On receiving the information, the police called the forensic team and conducted an investigation. Her cousin, Deepu Upadhyay, alleged that after the marriage, her in laws were torturig her for dowry.

Police questioned mother-in-law Sunita Pandey, husband Anurag and Dewar. According to Sanjay Tripathi, in charge of the Maduwadi police station, action will be taken according to the complaint of Anjula’s family.
