Flood Situation improves in Bangladesh

The flood situation in Bangladesh is improving as most of the major rivers are receding. According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre, all the major rivers of the country are falling and will continue to do so in the next 72 hours.

Out of 93 points monitored by the FFWC, water level has fallen at 72 points while it has risen at 18 points since yesterday. Relief operation by the government is continuing. The disaster management and relief ministry has distributed 27,850 tonnes of rice and 1.15 lakh packets of dry food for the flood affected people across the country.

More than 6 million people in 28 districts of Bangladesh have been affected by floods. Reports from various parts of the country indicate that death toll due to floods in Bangladesh has crossed 100 this year.
