At least 60 people feared drowned in Mahanada riveron last night when a boat in which they were traveling capsized midstream in Mahananda river on way to Maldah in West Bengal from Katihar in Bihar.

The boat was a ferry that takes trip between Bihar and West Bengal.The mishap occurred in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal near the Bihar border in Katihar.

The local authorities say that 3 bodies have been recovered so far as the rescue operation is in full swing.The Divers have been deployed to search missing persons. District Magistrates of North Dinajpur and Maldah are at the spot.
