UK PM Johnson will ask for Brexit extension if no deal by Oct. 19

With the clock ticking down to Britain’s departure on October 31, the UK government acknowledged for the first time on Friday that Boris Johnson will send a letter to the EU asking for a Brexit delay if no deal is agreed by 19 October.

Government submitted a document in this regard in a Scottish highest civil court. The Prime minister has time and again reiterated that the UK would be leaving on 31 October, saying deal or no deal, but no delay.

Talks between Britain and EU aimed at resolving differences over the Irish border will resume on Monday, with the UK urging the EU “to work with us at pace to agree a new deal”.

Meanwhile, Ireland Prime Minister has said that if UK were to request an extension to its Brexit deadline he would consider it.He stressed that negotiations to strike a new Brexit deal are not “mission impossible” and can succeed.
