In Jammu & Kashmir, three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed and a soldier injured in a counter-terrorist operation launched by the security forces in midnight hours in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Director General Police Dilbagh Singh said that Nasir Chadroo was Commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen Group that was neutralized in today’s encounter in Pazalpora area of Bijbehara town. He identified another slain terrorist as Javaid Ahmad and the identity of the third slain terrorist is being ascertained. Mr Singh added that the trio were involved in several militancy related activities. DGP said one soldier sustained bullet injury in his leg and is recuperating in the hospital.

Sources said the third unidentified militant is from Reasi district of Jammu province. However, officials have not yet confirmed the same.

Security sources said that arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site. They said that joint team of security forces launched the operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists in Pazalpora Bijbehara area.
