Sri Lanka Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake launches his election manifesto

In Sri Lanka, National People’s Power Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake launched his election manifesto today saying his first priority would be to bring law which will make it mandatory for the President to implement his election manifesto.

He said that most Presidents don’t stick to their election promises and that needs to change. The manifesto titled ‘Hope of Nation’ called for establishment of three pillars; law and democracy, an administration without corruption and a State in which public security and national peace is ensured.

Dissanayake said there should not be any person, who fails to abide by the laws, and the Head of the State is not exempted from this.
If elected, he intends to limit the Cabinet size to 30 and stressed that he would not allow ministerial posts such as state Ministers and non-cabinet ministers.

Former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa had launched his manifesto yesterday while Minister Sajith Premadasa is scheduled to launch it next week.Presidential elections in the country is scheduled for 16th of next month with 35 candidates in fray.
