Visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-chair the 5th Biennial Inter Governmental Consultations in New Delhi today.

A host of MoUs and agreements in a wide spectrum of areas are likely to be signed between the two countries.The German Chanceller, who is on a state visit to India, will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

She will also visit Rajghat to pay tributes to father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.India and Germany have established a Strategic Partnership that is characterized by a high degree of trust and mutual understanding.
