Sushma Swaraj comes to Goraya woman’s rescue

Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has come forward to help a Goraya woman allegedly being kept captive by her employer in Saudi Arabia.
In a Tweet, Sushma has instructed Indian diplomat in Saudi Arabia Javed to contact the Punjabi woman and send her to India.
The young married woman, Reena, belonging to Boparai village, near Goraya, and presently living in Saudi Arabia, has appealed through the social media to the Indian Government, Punjab government and AAP state convener Bhagwant Mann to rescue her from her employer, who had been keeping her captive at his house for the past several months.
Chand Rani, mother of the victim, told the media here on Tuesday that her daughter was married in Tanda, but her husband fell ill after a few months of her marriage. She, with the help of a travel agent, went to Saudi Arabia to earn livelihood. However, her employer tortured her. She narrated her tale of woes through the social media and said once she managed to escape from her employer and approached the Doadmi police in that country, but the local police sent her back to him.
Held captive in S Arabia
Reena, belonging to Boparai village, near Goraya, and presently living in Saudi Arabia, has appealed to the Indian Government, Punjab Government and AAP state convener Bhagwant Mann through social media to rescue her from her employer, who had been keeping her captive at his house for the past several months.
