Prime Minister says issue of Ayodhya was left undecided by previous governments to pander to vote bank politics; Says the abrogation of Art 370 has established the Constitution’s supremacy; perpetuating the ‘temporary’ provision helped separatists and their interests; points out that earlier governments had been lax on terror.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a Summit organised by a private channel in the National Capital. He said article 370 had been termed temporary in the Constitution since Day 1. Still some people, only for political benefits, had treated it as convention and ignored it for long. Article 370 helped the separatists and their interests in the region. He said the Modi Govt abrogated Article 370 & 35A to re-establish the Constitutional integrity across the nation.

PM Modi said that the issue of Ayodhya-Ram Mandir had also been lingering for a long time. Earlier, Govts played vote bank politics on the issue. He said that there was no reason why it couldn’t have been solved earlier.

Recalling 26/11 as the anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks, Prime Minister Modi criticised the earlier governments for not taking stringent actions against terrorists and terror attacks.
