Tributes paid to police martyrs
Sonepat: On Police Commemoration Day here on Saturday, police personnel led by Sonepat SP Satender Kumar paid rich tributes to all officers and constables who laid down their lives while performing their duties. A two-minute silence was observed and reverse arms were presented at the district police grounds. The SP said 379 police officers and jawans of the Indian police forces had sacrificed their lives for maintaining law and order and internal security. OC
Yamunanagar: At the Police Lines, Yamunanagar, tributes were paid to police martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The programme was presided over by Rajesh Kalia, SP. He said Commemoration Day is observed every year on October 21, as a patrol party of the CRPF was ambushed by the Chinese forces in Ladakh that day in 1959. He said 370 martyrs belonging to different states are remembered on the occasion. The police personnel reversed their arms and observed two- minute silence.
