2.0 audio launch: As excitement peaks, new poster of Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson out
All eyes are on Dubai today — the city will witness the highly awaited 2.0 music launch, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, in the evening. In the run up to the big day, there was a press meet at Burj al Arab in the city on Thursday.
The makers also released a new poster on Friday. Needless to say, it’s all glitzy — in gold and black. We see Rajinikanth as Chitti, the robot, and Amy Jackson’s character that looks like a humanoid. The touch of gold in their attire is unmistakable. Dominating the backdrop is Akshay Kumar’s Dr Richard, the birdman. His glowing eyes and ‘whisker’ eyebrows make an impact.
On Thursday, director S Shankar also released a poster which announced that there would be a live performance by AR Rahman. The poster showed Chitti seated on a sofa surrounded by what look like mega-sized computer chips.
Answering a question on why he was so humble at Thursday’s press conference, Rajinikanth said “nobody pays me to act in my real life. So I am simple”. On Akshay Kumar’s experience about working with the Tamil superstar, Akshay said he had to work in “five more films with Rajinikanth to learn a lot more from him”.
Given how dependent Indian films are on songs, it is interesting to note that 2.0 has only three songs in all. Two of these would be unveiled today.
