Twist of fate for cobbler after meeting CM
Kurukshetra
An aged cobbler at Shahabad Markanda town in the district had an unforgettable meeting with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar this afternoon.
As the CM’s cavalcade was leaving for Chandigarh after condoling the death of a BJP leader’s mother at Shahabad, Khattar suddenly noticed a cobbler.
He alighted from the car to know why he was working while sitting on the floor on a cold day.
Ajmer replied to the Chief Minister that after his son’s death, he had no means of livelihood. Ajmer said he also had the responsibility of two grandchildren.
Showing a humane gesture, Khattar announced a grant of Rs 50,000 from the CM’s discretionary quota. He also directed the Deputy Commissioner to provide a kiosk to Ajmer at Shahabad and ensure education facility to both his grandchildren.
