11 Major Institutes coming in AIIM-2017 at NITTTR
Chandigarh : Academia Industry Integration Meet 2017 (AIIM-2017) organized at NITTTR, as an initiative for exploring the possibilities for promoting interaction with industry and R&D organization through various activities mapping with the institute mandate under the dynamic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Pattnaik, Director of the institute.
A MoU with Tech Mahindra was also signed by the institute in the presence of Shri B.K. Mishra, Sr. Vice President, Tech Mahindra and Prof. S.S. Pattnaik, Director, NITTTR Chandigarh. This MoU will facilitate M.Tech and Ph.D. students of NITTTR, Chandigarh to work on live problems of Tech Mahindra in their IT campus at Chandigarh. Similar MoU is expected to be signed with SCL, Mohali during first week of January, 2018.
The event was inaugurated by Director, Prof. Pattnaik and in his welcome address he emphasized on the changing needs of technical education system and the role of NITTTR in present scenario to reach the new heights at National and International level through improving the quality of technical teaching, through better learning using innovative approaches like MOOCs and open educational resources, by strengthening R&D work in alignment with National Mission of the country, by interfacing and networking with industry and R & D organizations for better collaboration based institute growth.
Before noon session was utilized as brainstorming in various challenging issues related to technical education and role of NITTTR, Chandigarh. HODs of various departments have presented their areas of strength and how they are collaborating at the institute level with other departments and how the outside expertise is being utilized to meet the institute aims and objectives in alignment with National Mission and policy for the betterment of technical education, disruptive approach was emphasized.
In the post lunch session, distinguished persons from R&D and industry has participated to discuss the ways and means to improve the interaction with academic institutes like NITTTR, Chandigarh by finding common platform to work out together. R&D organizations who participated in the event are CSIO, TBRL, NIPER, along with industry representatives from BEL, ULektz, Advance Technology, OCF, Nectar Life Sciences Limited, Tech Mahindra, Kernel Sphere, TechieNest, etc.
The institute has also launched an app NCDLS (NITTTR Chandigarh Digital Learning Source) in collaboration with ULektz.
