Minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha on Monday said that on a per kilometre-basis for long-distance travels an air ticket costs less than an auto rickshaw ride.

The Minister was speaking at the inaugural event of the new domestic terminal building of Gorakhpur Airport.

He further said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership the aviation sector has seen maximum development adding that the number of people commuting via airplane has increased two-fold in 2018.
