Actor Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is doing a decent business at the box office. The movie earned Rs 13.10 cr on its opening day and the three days collection of the film is Rs 51.45 cr. The collections are likely to show growth in coming days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the numbers on social networking site Twitter. Even Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna is also happy with the film’s business.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha earned Rs 17.10 cr on Saturday and Rs 21.25 on the third day of the release. The film is expected to witness growth on Independence Day. Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#ToiletEkPremKatha is EXTRAORDINARY… Fri 13.10 cr, Sat 17.10 cr, Sun 21.25 cr. Total: ₹ 51.45 cr. India biz… #TEPK.”
Twinkle, who is proud of her husband for doing a film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha tweeted, “So even the box office needed this Toilet eventually to break free from its constipation-#ToiletEkPremKath Hit Hit Hooray!”
It seems that the flick is going to end the box office’s dry spell. It is yet to be seen if Toilet: Ek Prem Katha becomes Akshay’s consecutive fifth film to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie is based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and creates awareness about open defecation.
