An all-party delegation called on Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Wednesday to seek his intervention for providing link and access to the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway at various points.

Eight MLAs met Gadkari for providing proper linkages and access to the expressway from various roads crisscrossing the highway and to avoid traffic chaos in Palwal and other parts of the region, said Karan Singh Dalal, Congress MLA from Palwal, who was part of the delegation.

Claiming that the authorities have so far failed to provide right access to the KGP for the traffic moving towards Aligarh, Noida and Ghaziabad from the KMP or the National Highway-2, he said this could prove disastrous for the traffic in Palwal city as all vehicles destined for the KGP or the KMP would be passing through the city in the absence of direct access points.

“Gadkari has accepted the demand and assured that the acquisition of around 22 acres for the purpose would be done by the Union Transport Ministry,” he said.

Nearly 37 km stretch of the total 135-km-long expressway falls in Palwal and Faridabad districts.
