Another gangster held for Moga bank robbery
Moga, August -The police today arrested gangster Kuljinder Singh alias Kala, who was allegedly involved in the Moga bank robbery.
On May 23, 2016, gangster Gaganjeet Singh alias Gagana of Hathoor village (Ludhiana) and his accomplices had killed a security guard and looted Rs 60 lakh from a car hired by a bank to transport cash.
A senior police officer stated that after the robbery, Kala took Gagana and his gang members to his house at Dhurkot village near Raikot in Ludhiana district. He also helped them distribute the looted money among themselves.
Last week, the local police had arrested Talwinder Singh alias Nikku, a key member of the Gagana gang. Nikku was also involved in the bank robbery and other crimes.
Kala, a former local leader of the SAD, had switched over to the Congress during the Assembly elections. He had allegedly usurped the office of the Raikot truck union after the formation of the Congress government.
He has been remanded in four-day police custody.
On June 7, 2016, Gagana’s accomplices Jugraj Singh alias Jagga, Baljinder Singh, Rinku and Ranjit Singh were arrested.
