In Jammu and Kashmir, an Army officer was martyred while defusing an Improvised Explosive Device in Naushera sector of Rajouri.

Major Chitresh Singh Bisht leading the Bomb Disposal Team defused one of the mines successfully.

While neutralizing another mine, the device got activated and the officer suffered grievous injuries and attained martyrdom.

The 31 year old officer belonged to Dehradun, Uttarakhand and is survived by his parents.
