Chandigarh : Athletic club in senior men section retain trophy defeating Punjab University and in women section Athletic Club won the championship trophy.
The final match in men section commenced at 5 PM in sports complex sector 7 Chandigarh between athletic club and Punjab University. In the first set both the teams entered in the ground with the great zeal. Both the teams were fighting for each and every point at one stage university team was leading at score 14-11, athletic club players combined well and level the score and thereafter did not allowed the opponent team to gain lead and finally won the first set 26-24. In the second set athletic club players demolish the defence of the university team with the hard service and conveniently won the second set by 25-14. In the third set university team change the game plan and won the third set by 25-21. In forth set athletic club dominated the proceeding right from the word go and took an unsalable lead of 22-14 and finally won the game and match at score 25-18. From the winner side Abhimanu and Prince displayed the remarkable game in all department and from the losser side Paras was excellent.
Third position attained by Chandigarh police defeating DAV college sector-10 in state three sets.
In women section athletic club also retain trophy defeating MCM club in a state three sets. Athletic club team was consist at national and international player namely shiwani which was a great advantage to retain the trophy. Third position was taken by hospytek club.
In junior boys section DAV-15 got and honour to attain first position defeating DAV-8 in the final and third position goes to Punjab university campus.
In junior girls section sport complex-7 again secured first position defeating DAV-8 and third position goes to hospytek club.
