Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad visited south Kashmir on Sunday.A former Chief Minister of the state, Azad, who arrived on a four-day visit to J&K on Friday, visited Anantnag and met delegations to know the ground situation in wake of the abrogation of the special status of the state on August 5, sources said.

Azad was denied entry to Srinagar and Jammu cities on three occasions during the past six weeks since the Centre abrogated Article 370 and imposed restrictions and communication blockade on August 5.

“Azad interacted with locals and sought details about the present crisis. The Congress leader also met some daily earners and sought details about their families. He spent over two hours in south Kashmir,” they added.Azad is likely to visit north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday where he will be meeting several delegations and seek their feedback.
