GREAT WARRIOR MAHARANA PRATAP FOUGHT RELENTLESSLY AGAINST THE TYRANNY PROTECTING HIS MOTHERLAND—RANA K.P.SINGH

Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh Mr. V.P. Singh Badnore today unveiled the 18 ft high huge portrait of the great Warrior and Rajput King Maharana Pratap at an impressive function held at Nangal amidst recitation of sacred hymns and mantras.

Addressing a massive gathering after unveiling the portrait, the Governor said that Punjabis are known the world over for their unmatched bravery and sacrifice. The magnificent portrait of Maharana Pratap erected by the brave Punjabis would speak volumes of their dauntless courage and catholicity of outlook. Earlier he paid floral tributes to Martyr Amol Kalia, a native of Nangal, on his birth anniversary today.

Mr. Badnore recalled the innumerable sacrifices made by the Punjabis during World War I and II and subsequent wars afterwards. He said that the water from Punjab reaches till Jaisalmer in Rajasthan and for us it is not merely water but a life line in the form of blessed water flowing from the sacred lands of Punjab.

He said that Punjabis are familiar with the cultural ethos of the Rajasthan. Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana K.P.Singh deserves a word of praise for installing a enormous portrait of Maharana Pratap in the picturesque sorroundings of Nangal city.

Speaking on the occasion Rana K.P.Singh said that the teachings of Maharana Pratap are not confines to Rajasthan only but his esteemed respect and admiration for his Motherland is a source of inspirations for every youth and something to be acknowledged worldwide. He stood like a rock while protecting his motherland and people from the tyranny of the inimical forces. Today’s event is an effort to widen the glorious and heroic past of Maharana Pratap in Punjab. He said that the state of Punjab is fortunate that the state’s Governor is the direct descendent of Raja Jaimal Ji whose entire life was a perfect combination of heroism and sacrifice.
