Birth anniversary of Jyotirao Phule being observed

Today is the birth anniversary of reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule.

Jyotirao Phule was born in Satara, Maharashtra. His work extended to many fields including eradication of untouchability and the caste system, women’s emancipation and the reform of Hindu family life.

President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his birth anniversary. The President in his tweet said, “An iconic nation builder, his efforts towards social reform, women’s education, and freedom from caste prejudice remain an inspiration for us.”

Prime Minister Narendra modi also paid tributes to Jyotiba Phule. In a tweet, he said, “His pioneering and relentless emphasis on social reform greatly helped the marginalised. He was unwavering in his commitment towards improving the condition of women and furthering education among the youth.”

BJP president Amit Shah was on a day long visit to Lucknow on Wednesday.

He received rousing welcome on his arrival at airport. From here he went straight to Samatamulak chowk to pay floral tributes to the Dalit icon.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his two deputies — Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma — along with other ministers too joined him in offering their tributes.

Amit shah tweeted saying, Jyotiba Phule’s views and contribution will keep inspiring all of us throughout our lives.

After this he went to the official residence of the CM where he met the party leaders and the state ministers & dicussed the govt strategies
