BJP acting out of vendetta, says Hooda
Chandigarh
Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, facing a slew of vigilance and CBI cases for alleged acts of omission and commission during his 10-year tenure, on Wednesday alleged that the BJP government had acted out of political vendetta and slapped false cases against him.
“Our government ruled for 10 years, but there was no corruption charge. The BJP government registered these cases to divert public attention from its own failures,” he said at a press conference here.
He alleged that contrary to claims of zero tolerance towards corruption made by the current government, there had been a series of scams during the last four years.
He alleged that the BJP government had dropped land acquisition proceedings for 3,600 acres for a project in Bawal after announcing award for the same.
He said six months back, the cash-for-job scam had rocked the government, exposing its claims of transparency. Many other scams had hit the BJP government, including the mining scam, he alleged.
He said if the Congress came to power, all scams of the present BJP government in the state would be investigated. “There will be no political vendetta, unlike the BJP government,” he asserted.
He claimed that the BJP had only made tall promises to the people before the polls, but did not have a single achievement to its credit.
“This government lacks vision and direction. When it came to power, it lacked experience. It seems that it has still not learnt its lessons,” he claimed.
Terming the kilometre scheme of the Haryana Roadways as a scam, he demanded a probe by an independent agency.
Asked under whose leadership the Assembly polls would be fought, he asserted that the question was not under whose leadership the polls would be fought, but that every section of society wanted to throw out this non-performing government.
