A delegation of the BJP, led by Ravinder Raina, state president, met Governor Satya Pal Malik here on Saturday.

The delegation, and comprising Sunil Sharma and Ashok Koul, welcomed the decision taken by the Governor-led State Administrative Council at the Friday meeting to conduct the urban local bodies and panchayats elections.
The delegation raised with the Governor issues relating to roads, bridges and other development works. They apprised him of various issues relating to Kashmiri migrants, their rehabilitation, provision of basic amenities in their migrant camps in Jammu and elsewhere, and protection of their property and temples from encroachment in the Valley.

Malik assured the delegation that the execution of development activities in the state would be closely monitored to ensure completion within the envisaged timeline. He said he would visit Kashmiri migrant camps in Jammu and elsewhere to take stock of their problems.

Vijay Dhar, member of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board , at a separate meeting, briefed the Governor on the efforts of the board in making the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine more comfortable and safe. He offered various suggestions to improve the yatra facilities. The Governor and Dhar also discussed steps to promote sports and extracurricular activities among the youth.
