BJP govt pro-industrialist, anti-farmer: Surjewala
Kaithal,
Randeep Singh Surjewala media incharge of the AICC, today blamed the Central and state governments for aggravating the problems and misery of farmers.
Addressing a “parivartan rally” at Pundri in Kaithal district, he said it was strange that big businessmen were cheating banks while farmers were struggling to get MSPfor their crops.
He said the Central and state governments had failed to fulfil the promises made to farmers. He said farmers and workers were committing suicide, but the governments refused to change their attitude.
He said the “parivartan rally” was organised to express the people’s anger against PM Narendra Modi and CM Manohar Lal Khattar.
The Kaithal MLA claimed the rally would pave the way for change in the anti-people policies of the governments.
He said Modi had given a call to farmers to support him during election rallies by promising them 50 per cent profit more than their cost of production.
After coming to power, Modi and Khattar had forgotten their promises and were not serious to addressing problems of farmers, he claimed.
He asked Modi why he had not waived loans worth Rs2 lakh crore of farmers all over the country despite waiving loans worth Rs1.86 lakh crore of 14 big industrialists.
